Making a Difference Through Certification

As I prepared to graduate from Brigham Young University last December, I promised myself that I would only go to work for a company that was doing something good for the world. In addition to that requirement, I also wanted to find a job that would give me the opportunity to do international marketing.

A month before graduation I was asked to speak at a scholarship banquet for the Brigham Young University Management Society, as a former scholarship recipient. After the banquet I was approached by a man who introduced himself as “Craig Bushman, the Vice President of Marketing for Certiport.” I thought “Cool, but what does Certiport do? I’ve never heard of them.” Little did I know that this conversation would lead to employment at a company that met all of my requirements.

Joining Certiport

I joined Certiport on January 4, 2012 as the Partner Marketing Manager. My role allows me to work with Certiport’s Authorized Partners, who are located around the world, and assist in their marketing. Most importantly though, it also allows me to work for a company that has goals beyond revenue—goals that include preparing individuals for an increasingly competitive world. Certiport certifications in Microsoft Office, Adobe, HP, and others give people what they need to stand out as they strive to excel in college or the workforce.

Job Satisfaction

In my role, I’ve read and heard success story after success story of Certiport certifications making a difference in people’s lives. I highly encourage you to read or view any of the posted success stories on our website or on our YouTube channel. I’ve included two of my favorites with this post. As you read or view these success stories, contemplate what certification can do for you or for your family and friends. It really makes such a positive difference.

And, just so you know, I’m definitely not the only one who feels passionately about certification. Over these past few months I’ve met so many Certiport employees who work zealously each day to provide people all over the world with the credentials they need to excel in college and the workforce.  And, all of us would agree, one of our favorite things about our job is when we hear back from certified individuals making statements like this:

“Certification is what made me stand out from the stack of resumes. When you go into a job interview and 10 other people are being interviewed, certification gives actual proof that you can do what you say you’re going to do.”

It is then we feel true job satisfaction.
